Results – Day 2 – Mackay Show Horse Hack Championships

5 July, 2010

Here it is Monday afternoon and the first chance to create this post.   The second day saw the open classes take place and I’m pleased to post that T.J. and “Alice” – Kolbeach Vogue secured their invitation to the 2011 Grand Nationals.  T.J. had an exceptionally busy afternoon with the Small Galloway title class immediately followed by the Large Pony title class.  T.J. had three rides in the large pony section.  First up he rode his pony Balena Royalty “Bart” followed by a ride on the Titmarsh pony Silkwood Fanfare and his last ride was on his young pony Brookville Silk Road – “James”.  “Bart” made it through to the top five and “James” and T.J. executed a lovely workout.  “James” is very new to the show scene and eventhough a little immature has proved to be a reliable, beautifully paced pony.  When I asked T.J. what workout he was going to do on “James” he told me he’d surprise me!  It was a credit to his schooling and “James” worked a treat.  Thank you T.J.

All in all we had a busy couple of days – early mornings and constantly on the go.  It was a pleasure to catch up with  friends in the show world.  The Madigans – always hospitable – had show friends over each evening after classes…. Lot’s of laughs and great times shared by all – both adults, teenagers and children alike.  Happy travelling home and then face the human and equine washing….. before that next show outing.
