Smiles, garland, beautiful pony = one happy little girl
Well here’s a photo of one very happy little girl Kaitlin Labahn with her lovely pony Whitmere Fascination (stable name Whitney) recently winning the Equestrian Australia Victorian Newcomer 12hh and under.
This little pony is quite something for a newcomer. She also has shown her fabulous nature obtaining Runner Up Leading Rein at the Show Horse Council Horse of the Year in November 2011. This was her first ever leading rein class! Emily Murray was her jockey on that occasion and Simon de Leeuw the handsome handler.
Whitney is out of the beautiful mare Kiabe Promise Me (Silkwood Chalkstream x Kiabe Reinette) and by our boy Pendley Gold Cup*.
With a little bit of luck I might get to meet Kaitlin, her mum Michelle and Whitney on my visit to Barastoc this weekend. Not even sure if they are competing.
But good luck guys if you are and best wishes to all competitors for a fabulous Barastoc 2012. Please let there be sunshine and balmy days.
Surveying his surrounds at his first show
Congratulations goes to Joanne Uppington and Mick Clark who purchased Brookville Go for Gold last year. “Mitchell” is his stable name and today he and his rider Ashley Cooper won the maiden, novice and were sashed Champion Novice Galloway at the EFA Hack Day in the indoor arena at Gatton showgrounds. Yes that’s what I said INDOOR. The weather in South East Queensland has seen torrential rain and storms – yesterday evening being no exception. With saturated grounds the show was reconvened indoors. Ashley and “Mitchell” warmed up indoors where he worked a treat and coped like a seasoned horse for the entire day’s competition.
Terry and I were delighted when Joanne and Mick decided to purchase “Mitchell”. We know he has gone to the very best of show homes and will reach his potential in their expert hands. He is by our lovely stallion Pendley Gold Cup* and out of our beautiful 16.2 hh thoroughbred mare Sunlit Plain ( x Forrest Glow TB). Mitch’s rider is the well known and talented Ashley Cooper who is in love with this young horse. Ashley tells me he’s never had such a wonderfully well mannered and quiet horse and is enjoying working with “Mitchell” immensely. Joanne and Mick sing this young horse’s praises and so enjoy having him in their stable of show horses. Hopefully this great start today is the beginnings of more championships for all concerned. We certainly believe in him and believe he will bring in the gold for their team.
Well done Joanne, Mick, Ashley and “Mitchell”.
