The team won the maiden, novice and light weight classes and went on to secure Champion Pony Hack. We see a big future for this elegant combination. January 2010 heralded the New Zealand Grand National Horse and Pony Championship Show with Katie and Dylan winning the Junior Unity, Paced and Mannered Pony, NZGN Junior rider and Smartest on Parade Pony.
February 2010 saw Katie compete at the New Zealand Riding Pony Show. Her rider Dylan Simpson-Mabey won his rider class aboard Katie. She won her open class , was second in the Paced and Mannered, Champion B Pony and Supreme Pony. Katie continued her winning at the show with a win in the NZRPS Sash Class B Pony and took home the prestigious Springwood Trophy and Sash for the Supreme Registered Pony of the Show. Debuting under saddle, Janey paraded before Australian Judge Mr Garry Robson – “Montego Show Team” in the 2010 Melville Black Memorial Class held at the New Zealand Grand National Horse and Pony Championship Show. This class is for novice registered riding ponies born on New Zealand soil. Mr Robson award “Janey” the championship. The photo shows, L-R Judge Mr Garry Robson, Zilco Amberleigh Gold Touch ridden by Dylan Simpson-Mabey with the Riding Pony Stud Book Society Inc New Zealand secretary Adrienne Wood making the presentation on behalf of the Society. On a previous day Janey won her New Zealand Grand National pony and went on to be Champion Led Pony overall.
